Two family deaths over the last two weeks.

Not equating this to death, but geez...

Now my damned tub faucet has blown it's load and I've got to go through the excruciating process of replacing it. I hate old houses.

I just have a thing with plumbing and death. When my great-grandmother died in 2000 (coldest weekend of the year), I had to replace every single bit of my underhouse drain system. Took about 20 hours, then I had to drive to West Virginia for the funeral.

I'd love to know what people around here pay $150+ for a tub set or a bathroom faucet or a kitchen faucet. Someone has to be buying them otherwise Lowe's wouldn't stock them.

There are a lot of people out there with more money than sense.

I had a hard enough time finding one cheap enough. I have no desire to pay $80 or 90 for something that stays hidden 99% of the time.

The one's that buy these are using them as status symbols. They strut around braging that they spent $150 for a faucet for their tub so people will think they spent loads on the rest of the house as well since this is such an obscure item, when in reality they skimped on the rest.

Sorry about not mentioning your family Bob and giving my condolences. Of course I did give them yesterday when you cam by the store in person.

Well don't I feel like an [censored]. Had my dad come up this morning to help me replace the faucet, turns out I had put the old one together wrong. After having the thing apart no less than 4 or 5 times over the last couple of years due to lime scale buildup. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wall.gif[/img]
